Univacco, a global leader in hot stamping and cold transfer film technologies, has made history with its Univacco ReFilm Polo Shirt, the world’s first apparel product made using recycled foil. This groundbreaking innovation has earned two prestigious international design awards: the 2025 iF Design Award and the 2025 Green GOOD DESIGN Award, recognizing Univacco’s achievements in sustainable design and material innovation.

Univacco ReFilm Polo Shirt, the world’s first apparel product made using recycled foil.
Crafted from 100% recycled content, the Univacco ReFilm Polo Shirt features an optimized blend of post-consumer PET bottles and used foil. By giving new life to what would traditionally be classified as industrial waste, Univacco has created a circular solution that extends the value of decorative film beyond packaging. Each shirt reduces carbon emissions by up to 527 grams of CO₂, making a meaningful contribution to environmental protection.
Winning the 2025 iF Design Award, one of the world’s most influential design competitions with over 10,000 entries from 66 countries, highlights the ReFilm Polo Shirt’s innovation and impact. Meanwhile, the 2025 Green GOOD DESIGN Award, presented by The Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, further affirms the project’s role in promoting sustainable design practices worldwide.
Univacco emphasized that the ReFilm project marks a key milestone in its commitment to the principles of Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle (3R). Known for its high-performance decorative films, the company is exploring sustainable ways to extend the value of its core materials.
“This is more than an environmental initiative. It reflects our drive for innovation and sustainability,” said Univacco. “ReFilm reduces industrial waste and shows that even niche materials like decorative films can contribute to a circular future.”
